Description

I've been wanting to sit down and discuss this for a very long time. And simply because I'm sure no one reads Journal's anymore, I'm posting this as an art submission. No, I don't own Asura's Wrath, yada, yada, yada...

Any-who! Time to bunker down on some deep Gamer thoughts. SPOILERS ALL OVER.

After discussing it with a friend at school who is also an Asura's Wrath fan, I've come to a conclusion that Asura is one of the most mentally scarred people in video game history. Why?

Well, consider this. To start everything, Asura was absolutely stressed because when Mithra was an infant, he had no clue as to how to get her to stop crying. It hurt him. He felt pain because he couldn't stop it. Next, we skip ahead a buncha years and go into when he was fighting Gohma to release the anger and probably pent of stress as well as protect his family. Skip forward a bunch and he's a Guardian general. Past stress still on his shoulders, he has to defeat massive fleets of Gohma which could add not only mental but physical stress. Skip forward a bit more and doomsday happens. The day after the 'defeat' of Vlitra, Asura is framed for murder, holds his wife in his arms as she dies, is betrayed by people who might have even been his friends and had lost his only daughter. Sent down to Naraka with a severe case of Amnesia, this was probably the most relaxing moment in his entire life. He was only confused as to who he was, where he was and how he got there. After a conversation with the Golden Spider and a few flashbacks, he regains enough memories to have the need to go on. After hanging around Gaea for a bit, he realizes nothing has changed, this being confirmed by a Gohma attack which might have added a little stress. Woopty-flippin'-do, the Seven Deities show up to raise more hell on him, sending Wyzen to kill him again which only leaves him more confused, considering he still has a great deal of Amnesia. It is not until Wyzen provokes him with the knowledge of them using his daughter, Mithra, as a power vessel that he starts to get frustrated, demanding answers which only ends up in idle combat. This continues for a suggestive hour until Wyzen 'pokes' at Asura's side ( Punpunpun) and suddenly unleashes a powerful wave of memories to Asura as said Demigod was being crushed.

After the defeat of Wyzen, Asura is arm-less and is forced to fight Yasha, who he quickly identifies as his brother-in-law. Mind you, Asura may be a Wrathful Demigod but fighting a 'brother' might not have been an easy thing. Yes, he wanted answers and to have his daughter back but still. After quarreling and spitting insults at each other, Yasha slices Asura in half, killing him once more. Not a lot there, yea?

So then we have Asura pop out of a rock (WhichKindaLooksLikeAVa-hoo-hoo) and meet a small girl who greatly resembles Mithra. This most likely confused him immensely and left him with questions. Soon, it's dashed to the side by a friggin' Gohma Howler snatchin' up the little girl, which probably left him angry most of the chase throughout the town. Anyways, massive time later, he discovers that the girl isn't his daughter. How, I don't remember but either way, upon the arrival of the Seven Deities again, Asura fly's off to confront Kalrow. After running about and smashin' through spaceships and doors, he discovers that they seven Deities are using the souls of the mortals for their own usage, which pisses Asura off to know end considering that he has a sense of friendship and cares for the well-being of humans. Couple billion minutes later, he corners Kalrow in a space-pod and gives him a mighty tight hug until his skull crushes, exploding the entire pod and sending Asura back down to Gaea, unconscious.

Dare I speak of the Hot Springs? Boobs happen, mmk?

After a couple hours of bathin' in some hot water with some booze and babes, Asura beings to fight Augus, his former mentor and companion. The battle is fierce, the two spitting insults at each other as well as throwing punches until the action gets rougher when Augus pulls out a Really, really, really long sword. After a conversation between the two which consisted of 'I am you and you are me, lol" " No I'm not, omg" and falling through the sky with Asura at the end of a 300+ mile long sword, he smashes into the ground, getting impaled in the gut and screaming. ( He did in the Japanese version. ) After Augus says something, Asura says this little thing; "You wouldn't understand even if I sent you to Naraka!" Meaning really that eve if Asura sent Augus to Naraka, he wouldn't understand the pain and suffering he had been through all of his life. After punching Augus's sword in two, Asura pulls a badass and slices Augus in two with his own sword by gripping it by the mouth. ( He lost his arms again. ) With Augus dying, he gives comforting(?) words to Asura which suddenly makes Asura appear sad and seemingly distraught as Augus turns into pixie dust. It might be because at a certain point in his life, maybe when Asura was a child or something silly, he saw Augus as a father figure. He did have a close connection with Augus and Yasha which is why he reacts in such a depressing manner at their deaths. (Spoilers all over.)

And with that, I'm going to wrap this up because my fingers hurt. There might be a second part to this, maybe not. This is all opinion, but, tell me what you think!
